GRANT AVENUE UPDATE
FIREWORKS IN APRIL

I decided to post a couple of pictures of my Grant Avenue progress.
This is the bright, bright bottom section. I absolutely loved knitting this part.
The reds and blues seem to jump out at me as I knitted the stitches, as if the yarn was dancing off the needles.
At the top, the Bracken and Blue section is beginning to show. I hope this will prove as interesting to knit as the firecracker bottom.
Aside: I did some substituting of the reds as follows:
J&S #43 for Claret, (they are practically identical); Clover for Cerise,(because I had it in stash); Thyme for Carmine,( also in stash).
There are 6 different blues/turquoise colors used in Grant Ave. ALL the blues I used were the original AS Campion yarns called for, (color substitutions are stated above).
If you compare the AS picture with my knitting, you will see that the Nighthawk and Turquoise show up in my motifs . Those colors don't really show in the professional photographs.
All yarns are AS Campion kitted up these many years! The J&S was plucked from the LYS 's ancient Jamieson and Smith 'Garlic' string of all their colors.

oh junieann, it's simply stunning!

Looks great! I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like. Hmmm...might even get me to knit a vest.

Thanks Junieann. You have inspired me to finish up my Grant Avenue. I am also working it in Jamieson's with substitutions. I am almost finished and I got sick of it more than a year ago and haven't worked a fair isle since! And if you really want to hear my story with Firebirds and Virtual Yarns feel free to ask me!
